Celebrities TTC

I've noticed the trend of a lot of twins being born in Hollywood, and I find it "amusing" that all the stars deny ever needing fertility treatment.  I guarantee you some of them had infertility issues, just like some people on this board.

Sorry, kind of OT, but it's been on my mind for a while.  I just wish some would come clean about it as it would shed some much needed light on the issue.

LOL - I love Perez!  I know what your saying and I totally understand the frustration of everyone around you being pregnant but you.  I just don't want you or anyone else assuming something and then in turn in making you angry.  Those celebrities have nanny's and money out the *** to be able to raise 10 kids and still be living great.  For us to be jealous of them just isn't worth the time or stress.  I also don't like reading about the women on here who get all worked up over testing negative like a week before their periods due, because again it's just added stress (I learned this the hard way).  I was more trying to give you another side of it because all of us non-celebrities have enough on our plates to worry about wthen hy they can afford something and we can't.  My intentions were good I promise!  Well hopefully you do get your BFP soon and when you do the wait will be worth it :)

I read the IVF thing from a very reliable source. . . perez hilton.  ;-)  I hear what you're saying. . . So didn't mean for this post to be controversial in any way. TTC definitely brings out the crabby in me. :-D

i think because they do have the money and resources there able to pay top dollar for treatments etc..with out that money they would proly be where some of us are now. they are people to and there no differant from us there working there getting paid to act etc. I think the tabloids sometimes stretch the ttruth a bit. ppl love the dirt on celebs belive it or not thats how tabloids make there money. some celebs are using there status to help make the world a better place which is great.

But at the same time how credible are those sources that you read saying that Brad and Angelina did that?? I wouldn't get worked up about it unless they said it themselves.  I totally understand what your saying though, and I understand how you just want them to advocate for what they did for help conceiving.  The problem is, they actually did tell people magazine when they interviewed with them, that they didn't use IVF.  So you have to take their word for it.  Same with Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony, they said they had been trying to conceive since they got married (June 5 2004, LOL because I got married the same day) and were just fortunate to conceive twins.  You have to take their word for it and not the words of "sources".  So for using them as an example, you can only take their word for it and not get mad or upset because you think they are being treated differently when in fact they aren't (so they say).  I know where you are coming from feeling upset with others being pregnant, because when I m/c'd my SIL who was 19 at the time was pregnant with an unplanned baby and it made me so jealous.  Everything that happened to her throughout her pregnancy, I was jealous of.  I actually found out I was pregnant 5 days after she gave birth, so it was kinda ironic/weird.  It will happen for you, it just takes time and a lot of patience (which I know most of us don't have, LOL).

This is totally OT, but I just wanted to say that I cannot stand Angelina Jolie.

Like Joy said, I DO think it is commendable when celebrities use their wealth/resources to help.. But I personally think the help should start HERE in our country.. We have millions homeless HERE and children who need loving homes in foster care, etc.

I am a Jennifer Aniston fan... I think Angelina is a homewrecker and Brad is a dog! =P

Just thought this post needed some lightening up!

Not sure who you are directing your post at but I don't think anyone on this mb is saying that celebrities don't want children, or whatever else you were saying above.  What I do think is that some sugarcoat their lives too much.  I just wish a celebrity would lend their story to couples who are struggling with TTC.  I actually heard a story that Angelina Jolie sought the help of IVF immediately while TTC because she and Brad didn't want to wait to get pregnant.  And here most of us on this mb won't even get seen by an RE until we've put in a full year of good trying.  I'm not going to lie. . . that double standard bothers me.  If I had it my way, I'd be a few months pregnant already, but such is life.

Personally I commend actors and actresses who will put their acting career on hold to build their families. I am not a personal advocate for Angelina Jolie, nor am I fan, but I truly appreciate what she is doing in third world countries. She is actually out there and she's fighting for them to get clean water, food, medicine, technology, etc.

We want celebrities to use their status to help others, and yet when they do, people get upset about it.

As for celebrities having babies--- while it seems like a "trend" I don't understand why people get so upset about it. They're human beings who want to TTC just as badly as we do here. They're are not "above us". There is such a high expectation on them that it really disgusts me.

In fact, there could be celebrities incognito on here, looking for support, without giving up their identity. Why is it so hard for people to believe that celebrities want children as well? If they want children, they're selfish. But they have the money and resources to raise children appropriately.

So that was long-winded but all that to say, they're just people too!

Yeah, I definitely don't know if any are lying.  My guess is, some are, some aren't.  Maybe I'm just crabby because getting pregnant seems to be so easy for everyone else, ya know. . . I have to remember, that the pregnant people I see around everywhere (and trust me, they are everywhere!) maybe they tried for years before getting lucky.

I thought that too, but if you do the research (on odds of having twins) women over the age of 34 have increased chances in having twins (has something to do with their ovaries or eggs, obviously, but it is due to something from their age).  So some may be telling the truth about conceiving naturally.  Plus, having twins is like 1 in 100 chances so the odds aren't that against anyone.  Not to mention, we truly have no idea whether the are lying or not.  In general, being a celebrity gives so many other perks - like being able to donate all your gifts from a baby shower (Nicole Richie) because other people need them more than you.  I guess it's just you never know if their telling the truth and its hard because they can afford way more than the average person.

I was reading an interview with Angelina, and she denied seeing a fertility doctor for the twins.  She said it was completely natural  That's kind of what fueled my anger.

I know that seeking fertility treatment is a very private thing, but at the same time, it angers me that Hollywood stars keep popping out babies, a lot of times multiples, and then flat out say the child was conceived naturally.  It's like, not only is Hollywood above the law, but they are also exempt from infertility issues.  Lucky them! ;-)
