Cold meds...advice?

Hi ladies...I'm 11w 4d along. Since Sunday I've had an awful cold or something....sore throat, cough, congested/stuffy. I called my doc on Monday and she gave me a few meds I could take like Claritin D or Tylenol Cold. I was hoping with cough drops, lots of fluid, and my immune system doing its job, I would get over it...but I can't handle these sleepless nights up coughing anymore. But I'm really paranoid about taking anything...and I already worry about something happening to the baby all the time as it is. But I also feel like how is my baby supposed to grow and be healthy if I'm not healthy...that may sound silly, but I worry! Any advice or anyone taken meds while pregnant?

Thanks. I can handle the stuffy nose...but the sore throat and cough are what is really getting to me and making me feel miserable. Hopefully it'll go away soon so I can be healthy for my baby!

If doctor says its okay then take it. A healthy mom means a healthy baby. You need your sleep dear. And at 11 wks the vessels in your nose swell so it makes for a stuffy nose that meds won't help. But an awful cough can be just irritating!! Take care mama and I hope you feel better soon.
