Pregnant with cold sore I'm wondering if I can take Campho-Phenique
Hi, congrats on the pregnancy. Do you have herpes simplex 1? This says possibly safe: https://www.webmd.com/drugs/2/drug-86727/campho-phenique-antibiotic-topical/details/list-precautions. They say that because they believe it probably is but there are no controlled studies to support it. Why? Well, pregnant women don't want to be guinea pigs, right? So, they could probably never find women to be willing to do a study. But it IS probably safe. You can ask a pharmacist as they'd be able to tell you or your OB. Give your OB office a call.
You could also try dabbing on witch hazel.
