College Students

So I'm planning on taking 4 college classes next fall. I'm due Oct 7th and the semester will end December 8th, so I'll probably go into labor right in the middle of the semester. Have any college mamas gone through this? How was it juggling college and a new born?

I have been working on my degree and building a family for a while now. My son (who is now 2) luckily was born over summer break but I took full classes load and worked part time while pregnant and fall semester after he was born. It was tough but easier with family help, i had my husbands support. Now pregnant again due end of November n takin a full semester of classes since I only have 2 semesters left for my BA. I know MOST teachers are extremely understanding about everything with doctors notes to back ur story and they can give you an incomplete on the course and you'll have a year to finish up the work you missed. Being a fighter instead of a copout is always better for you, your baby, and your future. Just stay positive and dont be afraid to ask for help schools have support systems also! Good luck!

I have a 20 month old and am expecting my second baby in four weeks:) I've been in college since September and will be going right through until next April. I'm going to be honest it takes a lot of hard work and dedication but it is possible. Make sure to talk to your professors as soon as you can so that you can set up some sort of plan for after the baby is born. Good luck!

I did that with my first and talked to all my teachers about before I even started the classes and they were all fine with me taking my midterms late if it came to that. I had 5 classes and dropped 1 due to the teacher changing his mid about letting me take my midterm late. My son was born Oct. 6th which was the day of almost all my midterms but I still passed all except one of my classes

I wasn't taking any classes when my son was born but went back to full time school before he was 6 months, graduated this past December shortly before his 3rd birthday. I'll be going back this fall to work on my next degree (due in February) but will likely take only online classes for the first two semesters to accommodate my work schedule and pregnancy/newborn baby. I think it's a great idea to chip away at it a little at a time if you can.
On the other hand - four classes sounds like a lot especially just after delivery. Don't take on more than you can handle with confidence. You're going to want to rest and relax and spend lots of time bonding with your new squish, you only get that chance once!!

I'm due in July and ny classes start in august, I'm taking 2 online classes and one in class. I think it's gonna be challenging but I'm determined to go back to school so if that's what you really want to do I think you'll be fine. Yes it'll be stressful but you just gotta focus on what you want!!

Girl good luck with that. I wish I was strong enough to take on courses and juggle a newborn. I couldn't even walk without pain for more than two months after my baby was born. She's four months and I'm still having a hard time being able to leave her to find a job or something she's too used to having me around lol
