NEED ADVICE NOW

I have a bicornuate uterus.  I am 24 y/o and had a 2nd lap to remove2 teratomas one in each ovary this January.  I have been on constant birth control to subside my periods.
Well June and July I was a little lax with my b.c.  pills because I thought my body was trying to get a period since I was spotting.  (This happened before my surgery and my GYN told me to get off them and get a period.)  But when I was off my pills I didn't spot or bleed or even cramp.  about a week ago, my boyfriend and I went to have intercourse and he barely penetrated when an immense pain and a pool of black blood came.  I called my doctors office that morning.  I told the phone nurse what happened and she asked me if I thought I was pregnant.  I have been with the same person for a year so the possibility was there. She then told me to take a home test before coming in even though it might show negative if conception was within the past two weeks.

I normally would get a period that was 8days long with cramps that knocked me out this past "period" consisted of one day of black blood and clots then bleeding the next but very light blood.
I am experiencing bad low back pains, bad nausea after eating and constant, fatigue, extremely moody and irritated and on/off headaches.  Plus for the past week I have had uterus spasms, just random twitching. Is it possible to be pregnant and it not show on the test since it is too early or because my uterus shape was my initial question... and I am nervous that I could be and it is testing negative.  How many weeks along??

Any advice I would appreciate!!
Rae

Tyna, did you have sex before during or after you stopped taking the pill? Did you stop taking the pill or did you stop bleeding?  If you stopped taking the pill after just 8 days,  your body is getting confused and doesnt know when to release an egg.  If you got your period on the 30th and took the pill that same day, you should have been fine.  It is also possible that its your body getting use to the synthetic hormone.  I used to bleed inbetween periods when switching brands.  I also got terrible migraines due to the pill.  Every womans body is different,  you may want to call your GYN to get answers.  Good luck with everything.

I would think that you can test now... but perhaps a blood test at the doctors would be more accurate.  I thought as soon as you would expect a period which based on that info I would guess the 5th?? Should show a positive by then if you were indeed prego.

Did you bleed two weeks after the 30th or you stopped and then started... it could also be the on again off again birth control.

Test today and if negative or positive call your dr for a follow up
Good luck!

I never said she was retarded, I think you have this imagination of how it is in your head and not what it is on the forum.  You can't take emotion from two sentences.  I am sorry you thought that way sweetcaroline619, my mistake that I even put it out there. I really do hope things work out the way you want them.  I just feel like you should consult the doctor.

I never claimed to be, and name calling is plain immature and obnoxious.  I was not being a know it all but not even a doctor can say if she is, I am just saying there could be a possibility and to get a blood test.  I think you should keep your mouth shut... there is no need to be that rude.

No need to be a know-it-all *****, RAE.  Be a bit more sympathetic or keep ur mouth shut.  You're no doctor.

Duh.  If you are ovulating and no method of birth control there is always a risk.  Go get a blood test.

Hello,

The shape of your uterus has no bearing on whether you might be pregnant or not.  If the over the counter test is negative you can repeat it in one week, or pay a visit to your ob/gyn and they can draw a blood test.

Best regards,

Dr. Downing

I am so happy that you wrote to me, although I am terribly sorry you had to go through the miscarriage.  I really hope it is not that... Mine came out negative last week... but if I go off the bleeding day as implant bleed I would be about 2 weeks... too early to tell.  I switched doctors and I go into the new one on the 31st (wish it was sooner)

Wow, I'm not sure. I miscarried five months ago and some of your symtoms sound similar. I had the lower back pains, some spotting. I get nausea when I'm hungry and before eating but that's before the miscarriage. When I first found out I was pregnant, my test came up positive but my doc's came up negative until they did the blood test. Maybe they can do a blood test for you.
I hope everything is okay
