I live in northern california
If you have insurance and the office or birthing center accepts your plan. But i know here in florida two birthing centers and its $4500 for all prenatal visits plus the ultrasounds and birth.
If you want it at home just Google midwives in your area that do home births. But some hospitals do them and birthing centers. Google will help a lot with this. Then just call and talk to them.
Many midwives are employed at the doctors offices so call around. My insurance covers everything so I'm not too sure of the cost. Also if you go with a birthing center for water birth they also probably have staffed midwives you can see. Since your half way through your pregnancy I would definitely start looking for one to see.
My obgyn is staffed with 4 different midwives and I see all of them. I'm having a water birth, they are offered at my hospital. If your local hospital doesn't offer them you can research birthing centers, most of them offer water births.
I'm glad you posted this I'm curious myself hope our fellow pregnant ladies start responding
Im 19 weeks btw, first time mom, and how soon should i get a midwife and where do i find one??
