Cramping in pregnancy

I am 8 weeks and 3 days pregnant and this is my first pregnancy. I have had cramping since around the time that I should have had my period. Its is bearable and from what I can tell a normal occurance. However sometimes, I have cramping that is only in one side and a little stronger than the other cramps. It has me wondering if im having a tubal pregnancy. i am seeing a military doctor and cannot get into the dr. till the end of the month and I am wondering if this is something that I should go to the ER about. Hoping to get some help from someone that knows more than I. Thanks!

From what I have heard, an ectopic pregnancy is very painful (sharp pain to the point when you have to take drugs), but I have never experienced it.
With this pregnancy, I had period-like cramps for a couple of weeks, some of them quite strong - if it hadn't been for hCG levels doubling over 48 hours I would have been freaking out. I have also had a miscarriage and those cramps were very rhythmic and I was also spotting. If the cramps get stronger or if you see any bleeding, you should definitely consider going to the ER.

Hey. Congratulations! I had cramps at 12 weeks and also had a bit of bleeding so I went in to the er. They said that it was normal and is called round ligament pain from the ligaments in your stomach muscles stretching and making room. If you have any bleeding, definitely go to the er. Mention it to the mil dr if you see them on a reg basis or if you see them before reg doc.
