Curious and anxious

My first Dr appt is tomorrow! I'm uber excited because they will be doing an ultrasound too. But I was wondering, can they tell if you are having twins or not this early? I'm asking because my Dad is a twin and so is my husband. I was also told that the older a male gets the more sperm they produce and my husband is 41.

I think they should be able to as long as they can do an ultra sound to account for the heart beats. But I am no doctor sorry.
