Dental work during pregnancy

So I got a cavity filled over 3 months ago and since then I have been in so much pain I can't use that side of my mouth at all... So the dentis wants to redo the filling nest week and he will have to use local anestetic. My question is I need to know if this is safe cause if there is risk involved I will deal with the pain till I have the baby... Also I will be in my second trimester I don't know if that makes much of a difference

Lol thanks for the replies... My dentist does know I am pregnant and says they would usually wait till the baby comes but since I am in really bad pain that affects my living that it's reccomended to do... I'm just nervous cause I don't want to put the baby in any kind of danger

ive been wondering the same thing, cause i have a cavity that needs to be filled, i would call your ob just to let them know, and then make sure to tell your dentist your pregnant, depending on what it is they can usually do it.

heres an article i found on it when searching it for myself from the american pregnancy association

http://www.*****************.org/pregnancyhealth/dentalwork.html

they actually recommend check ups and stuff during pregnancy as not as much calcium and stuff go to your teeth as would normally due to the baby needing it.

hope the article helps! xxx

I was told by my midwife they will do limited work to your mouthies whilst you are pregnant. But if your dentist knows you're pregnant and iis still saying yes it has to be okay. Double check when you get there just to make sure!:)

Good Luck, I hate dentists LOL...

I had dental work (cavities filled) when I was in my first trimester. I am pretty sure it is safe, but ask your dentist. S/he will know for sure. =) Good luck.
