Did I just pass my "bloody show"???

Hi I'm 36 weeks and 2 days with my second child, I think I just passed what they call "bloody show" but I'm not for sure since I never had it with my first child since I was induced. I went to the RR and in my panties was a golf ball size amount of mucus with a little blood and I mean very little like the size of 3 pieces of hair stuck together. So all I'm asking is was that my bloody show even though there wasn't alot of blood?? and if it is my bloody show does that mean I will go into labor soon??

Rapid loss of mucus plug, especially a large chunk, is a good sign things are progressing towards labor, so if you don't want to go into labor yet (although I'm sure they won't stop you being over 36 weeks) you can call L&D! Good luck! If it is labor I hope it's quick and easy for you!!

yea Neither of my docs have said anything about going to the er if I have bloody show its always been if your water breaks that you can get an infection. because the mucus plug does regenerate itself. The amniotic sac is what protects the baby from infections not the mucus plug. and I have been losing my mucus plug for over a month now but I never had the blood in it. but I was shocked this afternoon when I had a small streak of it and I wasnt sure exactly what it ment. I'm still not sure if it was bloody show or not cuz I have still been losing more mucus just not tinged with blood yet. It was just weird with the small streak I had in the golf size mucus.

Really? My OB never said anything about this, he knew I was actively in labor and had bloody show, he told me until my contractions got 3-5 minutes apart, I could stay at home, he said if my water broke, then bacteria could get in and get to the doctor.

I agree I was always told if I have my bloody show go straight to the hospital. Call them and tell them see what they say

If you loose the plug or have the bloody show at all you need to go to the er!! If not bacteria can get in there. Please go get checked.

Sounds promising, really I had a back pain for a while before my contractions started, almost 12 hours. You'll lose most of your mucus plug, and then notice the bloody show, so when you're nearing the complete end of the mucus plug you'll see more, since it's up by your cervix! I bet you'll be in labor soon!!!

It might progress, and you might get more bloody show, but mucus plug loss quickly is a good sign, some women don't get bloody show! I didn't have much bloody show with my mucus plug and was still in labor! Watch out for other signs of labor, like menstrual cramps, back pain, etc!!
