Disappointed about babies gender

While I realize a baby is a blessing. I have to admit I was disappointed to learn I was having another girl. My 3year old was so excited to be a big sister and was convinced she was having a brother. She is having a difficult time accepting the fact that its a girl. I am having a difficult time myself so its hard to convince her this is a GREAT thing. Any feedback?

See I was the reverse...I already have a daughter (22 months) and I wanted another girl, I have no idea what to do with a boy...and when I found out I was having a boy I was depressed and scared..and guilty as hell for feeling that way! My little boy is now 3 wks old and I'm totally IN LOVE. Wouldn't have it any other way.

Just remind yourself of how much you know you'll love your baby either way and try to convey that excitement and anticipation to your little one.

I understand your disappointment. I too already have a daughter was sure that this time I was carrying a boy. Nope its another girl and when I found out I was SOOO upset. I had everything planned out for a boy and my heart craves a mini DH. But after a couple months getting used to the idea I wouldnt have it any other way. I am so excited for my 2nd daughter to come and the bonus is I still get to have one more! :)

I have 8 sisters and 1 brother. I'm closer to my sisters than I am with my only brother.
And I wouldn't have it any other way!

i was just talking about this with my mom. im having a girl and i was saying how of course it will be nice to have a boy next time ( for US because then we'd have one of each) but I would really like to have a sister for Lily. My mom only had a brother my mom never felt that closeness that a sister can be especially in the teenage years and beyond. I have a sister and I really dont know what id do without her.

I would take that little girl off your hands in a heartbeat.....I have 5 boys, 3 of my own and 2 step sons.

My first born was a baby girl...but she sadly passed away at birth. I would do anything, absolutely anything to have a baby girl this time.

Do you have a sister? I ask this because I don't know what I would do without my sister. It's such a great gift to give your little girl a sister. I was blessed to have both a brother and a sister. When my own sister found out she was having a second little girl...it made me cry with joy because I thought about our bond. It's really special. We are almost 4 years apart and never fought. It's a great spacing because they won't be really competitive with each other.
Enjoy your girls. A true blessing :)

as you say,a baby is a blessing. Be grateful for what God has given you and accept that you are having a girl.I understand your disappointment but that baby needs you to accept her as she is.
