Does anyone have a strange desire for a puppy?

Hey everyone, for the last 8 weeks I can't seem to shake the desire for a puppy.  I am due in just under 7 weeks now, and have this strange urge...  So, I am getting a puppy next week.  I already have a 5 yr old dog and used to have another younger dog, but he passed away last year.  I am using my son as an excuse to get the puppy because he is almost 8 and wants a dog to play frisbee so I am getting him a border collie mix.  My other kids are 5 and 6 so they will enjoy it too.  Anyway, I just wondered if anyone else has this strange desire for a puppy or even a kitten during pregnancy....

I am adopting a mix between a border collie / Basenji.  He is 8 weeks old and I will get him next week after he has been neutered.  His name right now is Maxwell, (rescue organization named him) but my son will probably name him after we get him.  The dogs mom was going to be put down while preg with 8 puppies.  A rescue agency came in an adopted her and the next day she had the pups.  So, now all but one puppy has an adoption hold and the mommy dog has been adopted.  A true success story!

YES i did and I HATE dogs...my crazy mil has 8 dogs-in the house- and now i have a hard time being around any dog because i associate 1 dog with 8. But if my DH had've said he wanted a dog while i was pregnant i would've jumped at it. a lot of my friends have gotten dog while thye were preggo

He is now 9 days old!  We got him at just 1 day old.  We named him Moses because of the story of Moses and his mother.  My lil man will be a big ol' hound soon, he is a Great Dane.  If you click on my profile and photos you can see pics of him at just one day old.. that is the night we got him.  I will post some updated pictures once he opens his eyes.  =)  He is eating like a champ!!  He is up to about 22 ounces a day!

Good luck with your puppy.  I am due May 5th, but will probably have a c-section on April 22nd, so our lil puppy will be a little over two months.
