Donating breast milk 0_o

I read somewhere that motherscan donate their breast milk....this is the first I've heard of this! Has anyone else ever heard of this? And if so, would u consider being a donor? I found this topic very intriguing

Thanx for the advice!!! It's so sad to see those premie babies:-( it breaks my heart so any little thing I can do to help I'll be more than willing to help!!

If you build up your milk supply and keep putting your bub to your breast often, keeping up fluid intake, then there is no reason that you shouldnt be able to produce enough milk to help these little one, what a fantastic thing to be thinking about :) make sure everytime you put your baby to breast you drink at least one glass of water then that will ensure you have enough :)

I agree! It's usually used for NICU babies, but others can get it as well if they qualify.

Its such a fantastic thing to do and it helps so many little babies, not many places here in australia do it but I hope it catches on here, they use it for the neo=natal babies over here so it gives them a fantastic start to their lives

Once my supply comes in hopefully it will be enough to donate and still nourish my son I love the thought of helping other babies!!

I know of quite a few donation centers. If I had the ability I would have, but my daughter drank a lot and my supply was enough for her and nothing extra.
