Early Miscarriage.. due to diff. blood types

I had a IUD from April 09' to Jan 20th, 2010. I just found out i was pregnant in the hospital on Feb 22. They did blood work to confirm the urine sample test. Sure enough it too showed levels of hormones, but very low. They had me go back two days later to have another blood test to see if levels of hormones were rising properly... And they actually dropped. This made sence in my mind, because I had a period on the 13th that was heavier then ever before, and late in my cycle. i was going thru a tampon every 2 hours, and leaking thru those for 3 days. I miscarried. They have suspected it to be because of my blood type being -tive and my husbands is +tive. So on Feb 24 they gave me a shot of WINRHO 300 ug. They said this will prevent my body from forming antibodies against his blood type, because either way the baby will be +tive and my body will fight it, killing it.
My question is.. I recieved the dose of WINRHO 11 days after the first day if the period (miscarriage). Is that too late?? And what are the chances of losing another one to the same problem??
ANd how soon should we be trying again? being as we were only about 3-5 wks pregnant.

I'm sorry that you lost the pregnancy!
I'm glad that they gave you the Rhogam shot!
Because it was such an early pregnancy, you should be protected by the Rhogam.
Ideally, it is given within 72 hours of the start of bleeding, but most of the time people are not sensitized anyway, and it is just a precaution.
It is unlikely that you will have another miscarriage unless there are also other problems.  You can start trying again right away.  No need to delay if you didn't have surgery (d&c).
If you do become pregnant again, they will automatically test you for problems with the Rh factor when you go in for your first visit with your doctor.

For me, I ovulated about 2 1/2 weeks after I had my miscarriage.  It was about 3-4 days after I stopped bleeding.

I'm also RH Negative and was told that it won't cause issues in early pregnancy, however if you are sensitized it might cause complications later in pregnancy.

Well im just wondering if a cycle starts RIGHT after a miscarriage??..

Check out babyhopes.com n go to the ovulation calander it shows u all ur fertile days when ur ovulating and when a test cAn show positive. Hope this helps

Thank you Dr. B, your answer put some comfort in my day..
I'm really hoping the shot works, because we didnt even know we were pregnant let alone already had a miscarriage..
How soon would I ovulate if the miscarriage was on Feb 13th and lasted until the 16-17th?
And if the shot did not work, is there any posibility to ever get pregnant with a positive donar??
