Early labor signs?

So I went to the hospital last night to get checked because I wasnt feeling my baby move much yesterday and I was getting real sick. The nurse hooked me up and everything looked just fine. She did notice though that the monitor read that I was having alot of contractions and she said that I look like Im getting close to delivery. Early this morning I woke up to hard contractions and couldnt go back to sleep. All throughout today I have been having hard painful contractions, they hurt so bad that I feel like I want to hold my breath through each one. The pain is pulling down and is breathtaking. Iv also been having horible dull backache in my lower back and it hurts to stand (it hurts when I sit to but standing is much worse). I began timing my contractions at about 3 this afternoon and I noticed that I have been having a contraction every five-eight minutes and last about 30 ish seconds. Its now after 7 and there still the same, in time and they havnt changed in pain (getting more painful) Iv also been feeling like I have to pee every second. Even straight after I go to the restroom I feel like I have to go again! Could I be in the early stages of labor?

Well I sure was in labor! I went in on the ninth and I knew I was in labor but I wasnt dialating enough so they sent me home. I went back in on the tenth dialated to 4 centemeters and ended up having him on the 11th at one in the morning!

You are 39 weeks... I would call the dr.  I have been having contractions, lower back pain and cramps for 3 days.... I am waiting it out until things develop more....but this is my 3rd and I am only 33 weeks... you could be going through the real thing... at least have them hook you up to see how far apart and strong they are and if you are dialated and effaced yet.... my mother had only 2 hours of labor with me and my sister ... so it can happen pretty quickly.... or it could be like my pregnancies and have these feeling for weeks.... but with you being so close... I would just go to be safe. Good LUck

Holy cow! 73 hours? wow! Yes this is my first but I have been having signs of labor approaching for days now and it has been increasing every day. Today has been the worst! Im thinking about just waiting it out for awhile until I feel like I cant stand i anymore.

I'm not sure if this is your first pregnancy or not, but for women who are pregnant with their first baby, the contractions can take a very long time to get closer and stronger. Some women can labor 24-72 hours on their first babies. I was in labor for 73 hours with my first.

Yeah Its just like drops. I feel like I gotta pee super bad and I try and almost nothing comes out. How close would you say? and when do you think I should call my doctor? I feel like it could be early stages of labor but Im not sure because when your in labor the contractions are suppose to get closer and more painful.
