I have a tattoo on my lower back and I want to get the epidural for pain management during birth.. Will I be able to get it even though I have the tattoo?

Yes. Because they insert it into the epidural cavity. And pull the needle out. It doesnt effect your tattoo. And your tattoo doesnt effect it. All it is is an insert of a plastic tube. And anytime you need more.. they let more flow into it.

Well, they put an iv in my arm, right inside my tattoo (that's filled in) so Idk. I guess it just depends on the needle?

I believe it going into a spot right below your middle back. How big is your tattoo?

You may not be able to if your tattoo is near the spot they will insert the epidural which is about a little lower than mid back.
