good question I didnt even knw abt sum of them. P.s whats tmi ladies???
I tested positive for the gsb and had my baby 3 weeks ago, he was my 3rd baby so labor came on so quick no time for antibiotics, it scared me but he ended up being perfectly healthy and did not get sick. Gsb is something you cant prevent and it doesnt even effect you. My other 2 pregnancies I was negative and for some reason with this one it was positive. I naturally freaked out when my dr told me but he also said 30% of woman do. Also I had my baby boy breach
With no pain killers I was only in hard labor 20 minutes and there was no time for anything. Dont freak out everything will be fine, just take it from someone with experience.
Labor or rupture of membrane before 37 weeks
Rupture of membrane 18 hours or more before delivery
Fever during labor
A urinary tract infection as a result of GBS during your pregnancy
A previous baby with GBS disease
I just looked up strep
How does someone get group B strep?
The bacteria that causes group B strep normally lives in the intestine, vagina, or rectal areas. Group B strep colonization is not a sexually transmitted disease (STD). Approximately 25% of all healthy women carry group B strep bacteria. For most women there are no symptoms of carrying the GBS bacteria.
What if I test positive for Group B Strep infection?
If you test positive for GBS this simply means that you are a carrier. Not every baby who is born to a mother who tests positive for GBS will become ill. Approximately one out of every 200 babies whose mothers carry GBS and are not treated with antibiotics, will develop signs and symptoms of GBS disease. There are, however, symptoms that may indicate that you are at a higher risk of delivering a baby with GBS. These symptoms include:
I just found out I have strep not even 5mins ago and my doctor wasn't the one to tell me the nurse in l&d did I still have no idea what it is and will be talking with my doctor about this Wednesday at my appointment

Bump= Bump Up My Post... Is somethin you can say to make your post go back to the top of the page If It's "dying" meaning no one has replied to your question for awhile that's It's nearly off the first page of questions....
Glucose Test- is a type of blood test used to determine the amount of glucose in the blood. It is mainly used for testing for gestational diabetes that you can get while bein' pregnant.
Group B strep- is a bacteria that is found in the reproductive and digestive tracts of up to 30 percent of women. The bacteria can lead to blood, urinary tract and skin infections that can be serious if left untreated.is done because of the risks for infection, not only to the pregnant woman, but especially to the baby. Group B can cause serious conditions in newborns, such as meningitis and sepsis, which can lead to other problems such as blindness or, in rare cases, even death. However, these problems occur in a small number of cases--only 0.5 to 1 percent of infants born to mothers with group B strep (GBS) develop such symptoms of early-onset GBS disease.
I believe everyone takes a glucose test. Between 24-28 weeks. It's to see if you're diabetic during pregnancy
