My doctor's office just called with the GTT results. Mine are borderline! So what does that mean? Means a pregnant lady has to fast and do the 3-hour glucose test. I've done it before but I wasn't pregnant at the time. I hope I don't feel really woozy.
Anyway, so my result was 137. The lab says over 139 is considered gestational diabetes. My doctor, however, wants it below 130. So I just need 2 or 3 of my blood draws to be under 130. If you're a praying person, pray! I do NOT want gestational diabetes. It means I'm at risk for "regular" diabetes later, something my brother has and my mom had. And now I'm stressing out. Ugh!
So I scheduled my appointment for tomorrow, bright and early. Should have results Thursday!

With my son, I failed the one hour GTT but when I went back for the 3 hour test I passed. My prayers are with you and God Bless!
Thanks guys! I'm not worrying about it and I'm going to try to go to bed early tonight. Right now I'm watching Hell's Kitchen (dang, makes me hungry!) then off to bed.
I failed my one hour GTT, I had a 144, and passed my 3 hour test. I think you will be fine. I wouldn't worry about so much but I will defintely pray for you. GL!!!!
Ugh, those are the longest 3 hours! Try to take a real good book and magazines...Hope all goes well, keep us posted!
Joy~ i'm praying that things turn out ok and that your 3 hr goes alright! With TJ I only had to do the 1 hr test and that was a pain in the butt!
Wishin you luck Joy. I'll be praying. DH's cousin had GD test done when she was preggo and it wasn't a fun road for her. I'm praying hard right now for ya.
I have PCOS- it puts me at higher risk of developing it. Also, diet and exercise was a major part of my life before I got pregnant unexpectedly so it's just frustrating when I've worked really hard thus far. Diabetes runs in my family. I want to avoid this as much as possible.

Did you fail the one hour with your other pregnancies?? I failed my first one this time around, it was at 158 (I think) But passed my 3 hour (not sure by how much) So I think you should be fine. Diabetes runs in my family so I know how scary it can be for you. Fingers crossed that your 3 hour turns of good! Hopefully you wont be too bored. All I wanted to do was sleep during mine, I kept running out to my van after blood draws and taking a quick nap:=)

But please don't worry too much if not. I had GD with my DS, and although the diet was a PAIN especially with cravings, it really wasnt that bad. We were able to control it with diet and one pill a day. And although those of us with GD have a higher risk of developing type 2 later in life, those risks can also be cut significantly with diet and excercise!

i failed the 1 hr but passed the 3 hr with my first pregnancy. it's very common. And as long as the appointment is first thing in the morning, you sleep through most of the fasting. Good luck.
