Feel free to message me with any questions or concerns! This is only baby number two for me but I've read everything I can get my hands on about birth and pregnancy and I've assisted in a few labours as a doula.

A lot of first time moms go late but not all. If it's a concern for you look into induction and learn under which circumstances your doc/midwife will induce. Learn about it though so you're prepared for the risks.

Tearing is normal but a bad tear is not! To prevent this, do your kegals, massage your perinium, and do slow gentle pushes (not straining pushes). A good provider can help reduce treating by helping you push correctly and stretching your vagina as baby crowns.

Pooping is totally normal and I promise they've seen it before! It's a little embarrassing but a lot of women don't even realize it's happened because it's so not a big deal. Unless you ask them directly, most doctors won't being it up.

Water breaking: mine broke in public and it was a slow leak. Not noticeable to anyone but me. I put a pad in and nobody was any wiser about it. Even if it breaks in a gush, you're more likely to get sympathy and thanks than rude comments.

Not making it to the hospital in time us really rare for a first time mom. Unless you labor at home as long as possible (oe live an hour plus away) I can almost guarantee you'll make it in time.

C section is a valid concern. What are your provider's rates? What is the hospital rate? Induction raises your chance slightly as does an epidural. Epidurals don't work the same for everyone. Find strength in yourself and don't count on the epidural being your savior! Epidurals are there to manage the pain, not to alleviate it.

Good luck mama! Hope this helps a bit.

I'm not scared of birth at all. The only thing I'm worried about is a c section. Other than that I'm not scared.

Me giving in early and getting pain meds. The early you get it the more likely it will wear off
