Feeling not connected to my baby ?

So I'm 19+3 weeks pregnant. At 11 weeks I was hospitalized with severe PPD symptoms, even though this is my first baby. So they called it prenatal depression. From the beginning I havnt felt close or connected to my baby, I figured because I had really bad HG, and then the depression, that that's why.
But now I'm healthy, not sick, not depressed anymore, I find the gender out on the 10th and I seem to not be connected at all still :(

Has this happened to anyone else? I'm 21, and in a great relationship with the father whom is 26, and is sad I don't feel connected :(

Im 24 with my first pregnancy, i  also feel as though im suffering from depression.  I've wanted nothing more my whole life than to be a mother, now that its happening im disappointed in myself because i don't feel the euphoria i thought i would. Just  know you're not alone, sometimes reality takes a bit to sink in. I have no doubt we will both love our babies with every being, some things just take time. Our 'aha' moment will surface soon!

I'm sorry you're going through it too! My antidepressants have helped a lot, I used to have horrible thoughts towards my baby and suicide plans (excessive hormones, prenatal depression and past trauma) and it's been gone for a whole month :)

How far along are you?
I actually felt the baby tonight ! It was a flutter :) made me super happy. Maybe I'll feel more connected Wednesday when I see it in my ultrasound and find out what it is

My first child I have no connection whatsoever until I gave birth and we did skin to skin. It was instant love at first site.
Some women don't feel connected during pregnancy. And for some women it takes a little while after birth to feel connected to your child.

I am 11+5 weeks. My depression is minor i suppose compared to yours, i do not have suicidal thoughts but basically everything just shy of that. Im very glad you found some medication that helps! Im hoping that the next couple weeks my hormones wont be such a whirlwind of emotion, im a basket case. Lol

Yay for feeling the baby! Im sure movement helps with connection, im very happy for you that you are on an uphill slope, it also helps me knowing that other women feel the same as i. :)

Awe thank you! Pregnancy hormones bring the worst out in us .. I've never had depression as a issue before or suicide thoughts so it was like wtf is going on haha.
It helped me a lot realizing so many women go through the same thing ! Made me feel less crazy :)
I hope it gets better for you soon! Sometimes it's just harder on us !

This was a planned pregnancy :)
I havnt felt baby move or flutters ..
I find out the gender on August 10th! And I can't really afford yoga classes where I live at the moment , I was written off from work due to being in and out of the hospital for 4 months straight :/

Did you plan this baby or was it a surprise. I didn't feel connected to this one as much as my first as I didn't want to become pregnant again just yet. My partner also was very against this baby. But after I found out the gender my partner has started to acknowledge that this is happening and it made me feel a lot more connected to her. Also can you feel baby moving yet I find that makes me feel more connected.
