The further along you get the less room baby has to move around. He could also be sleeping.

Ladies please look on the count the kicks website as you are giving false information and it could be very dangerous. 1- baby does not run out of room causing movements to slow down, yes the further along you get in your pregnancy, baby will have less room but should still be moving around according to the routine that you've been used to. Kicks will just be less pronounced as they used to be when he/she had more room.
2- Yes a fetal heart monitor can give reassurance but it does not mean that baby is fine, things can change very quickly.
If you are concerned that babys movements have slowed down, please please contact your midwife. Chances are all is well but you never know and you should definitely not wait and see what happens. In my previous pregnancy I had reduced movement a few times and each time I went into the birthing centre and baby was checked, thankfully everything was fine and he is now a cheeky 17 month old :) the midwifes will be pleased to have put your mind at ease. All the best lovely x

Try getting a heartbeat monitor if you're frequently feeling worried about not feeling movement. A heartbeat monitor could be an instant relief.
