Fetal Heart Rate Dips

I'm almost 39 weeks and this past Sunday I was in the hospital getting monitored and my baby kept having dips.. After 4 hours of sitting there waiting, my doctor sent me home. Now I am worried. My baby maybe moves every 5 hours for maybe 5 minutes... Should I be concerned? I don't want to go to the hospital for them to send me home so I can worry more.

And also he isnt moving much because most of the day he is sleeping...thats just how it will be wen he/she is born. So stop worrying; thats not good.

The baby is moving less because he dnt have much room to move around and his heart rate is dropping because it almost time for his/her birth. Those are normal no need to worry. I hope you have a safe delivery!! :)

My doctor tells me 10 movements in 12 hours. But if you are used to baby moving a lot more, I would go get checked.

Your baby should not move any less closer to delivery. Please go get checked out if you think they aren't moving as much. Do not listen to the advice that it is normal. Be safe and always get checked. It's always worth it.

That is absolutely untrue.  Babies do NOT move less as they approach their delivery date.  Yes they'e squashed but they still move just as much. And as they're bigger, you feel every single finger flex and wriggle.

There was a post on here a few days ago from a mum who noticed her baby was moving less.  Fortunately she hadn't listened to anyone telling her it was normal and went to hospital. Turned out the reason he was quieter was that he had swallowed meconium and his organs were failing. Baby was delivered by emergency Cs and is now in nicu.

If your baby moves less get checked!

If he's moving less than he usually does, definitely go back and get him checked again.
