First Pregnancy & Have the flu!

I'm 14 weeks pregnant, and I have the stomach flu. I've heard lots of things about being sick while pregnant, should everything be okay or what do I need to do to help stay healthy?

I just had a horrible cold. It was feeling bad on top of feeling pregnancy symptoms. I stayed home for the duration and drank water and slept. All you can do really, since you can't take a ton of medicine.

Ive been sick 3 times this pregnancy and what works for me is staying hydrated, drinking hot tea, and sleeping it off.

I went to the hospital once while sick and they told me what i was doing (sleep and hydration) was the best I could do. She told me to let it run its course and after 4 days if its not better then I needed to see my doctor to get medicine. Luckily, it never got worse!!

Make sure you stay hydrated and everything should be fine.  In my mind the flu isn't so different from morning sickness when nothing stays down.  Just drink a lot of water and maybe Gatorade or something.  If you're still worried when you get better you could always have your provider check on baby for you.
