I never get it as well however when I am pregnant I do choose to get it only because my child was born in Oct and this baby is due in Dec. I got it because when the baby is born he/she will be immuned to it as well.
It won't hurt to get it just in case. I had the flu once back when I was a teenager and I couldn't imagine getting it while pregnant or shortly after having a baby!
I got mine. I am a nurse so I always get one every year for work. There was no way I wasn't going to get one while pregnant since this year its extra important since I'll have my baby to protect to. The thing with the flu is you can actually be contagious before showing symptoms so even if you become ill and stay away from the baby, the damage has already been done. Infanta and pregnant women are considered high risk because the complications caused by the flu can be life threatening. I'd highly recommend discussing any concerns you have with your Dr. The flu vaccine is safe and is so important for protecting your little one and yourself.
I was gunna get mine at 38+3 but he came at 38 weeks so didn't get the chance but I wish I had chosen to get it earlier because the vaccine protects baby for the first 6 months and now I'm worried about him getting the flu
I'm pregnant with my fourth and I've never gotten the flu shot and i don't plan on it this time either. I've always been just fine without it.
I normally don't get the flu shot either. However, I felt it was important to have in case I did catch something this year. I would rather have a mild and easy case of the flu than something that could dehydrate me and potential harm the baby. I'm not big on vaccines, but I try to do my research ad best as I can before making a decision about them. Just another prospective. :)
I'm not getting it either its optional I haven't gotten it either and I've been just fine wothout it all these years
