Fmla help please

Does anyone understand the federal medical leave act? Im getting a little worried now that my pregnancys are so close together. I was out last august for disability, then sept-dec for my paid leave, then jan-march for my unpaid leave. Im due feb 2nd and would leave in january again. Is this within the 12 month period under fmla or is fmla only the unpaid part? Im in nj too. Please help im confused.

Agree with the above poster it's per calendar year. Also FMLA is the unpaid leave after your maternity leave expires. Check your employment paperwork or consult with the local labor board in your town to find out if the company you work for can deny you maternity leave. Odds are they have to offer you the paid leave even if the last one was only a year ago. Good luck.

I understand it.  You get 12 weeks in one fiscal year so you are golden.  Doesn't matter what state you are in either.
