So....I haven't slept in days! The nurses at the doctor office, haven't been helpful.
I posted a few days ago about a cervical exam because of cramping,
My initial test results came back negative, but when they sent them out it came back that I have Group B step UTI. Fantastic :/
Now I am really freaking out that when he did the cervical exam, it caused the bacteria to go up my birth canal and will cause an uterine infection which will have bad consequences for my love bug.
I'm not mad about the exam, I realize it needed to be done incase the infection was causing preterm labor. My question is 2 fold.
One if my cervix is closed, does that mean he couldn't get his finger up my cervical canal? I've read so much on what dilation means and how to check and honestly it's all to complicated for me.
Two: what are the chances of an infection going through the amniotic sac if it does enter the uterus? I know most cases occur in labor, but that it can actually cause preterm birth and rupture of membranes.
I appreciate all your help!!
