Ftm nervous about the epidural

I'm 29 weeks and I've been thinking about my due and when my little girl is going to be born and I'm really nervous about getting an epidural and I'm just wondering what I should expect. I'm planning to get one because I'm not very good with pain but I'm also not a needle person and I'm so nervous and kind of scared about that part and I was wondering if yall could tell me your stories about what yall went through and what it was like? I would really appreciate it! Thank you so much and God bless you all

I was also worried about moving once the needle touched my back , but I didn't. It's a mind thing. It didn't hurt. And when it wore off I did have a little back pain but it went away. It wasn't a bad experience for me. You just have to have a strong mind and think positive and it will all turn out better than you expect it to be. Good luck!

I felt nothing but a bit of pressure during the insertion of the epidural. Many hospital use a local anesthetic to numb the area before the put the needle in. I did have to have it done twice because the first try wasn't in the right area, but it didn't bother me. I'm going natural this time, but the epidural wasn't bad.

Definetly didnt hurt at all. They usually five it to you during a contaction. (contractions hurt like hell) so you dnt even feel it. Youre to busy crying about the contraction that you dnt evn care if someone puting a needle into you. Just follow directions dnt move and you will be fine. :)

Its dif for everyone. I didn't have a bad experience when they put the needle in it was afterward when my hip started hurting cause they were supposed to get me to turn over to the other side after a little while and didn't. A lot of people say it hurts to get an epidural, but getting the epidural wasn't what hurt me. Im going to try natural this time, I've heard its better cause you can get up and move afterwards and don't feel bad. The epidural does make your back hurt too when it wares off.
