Glucose Test question

So I had ny glucose test today. Dr said I didnt have to fast - which was good because I totally forgot I even had an appt today... curse the pregnancy brain! Anyway! I had to drink the orange stuff within 5 mins, which I did, then had to wait an hour before getting my blood drawn. I could not eat or drink ANYTHING until afterward.

Now I went into the detail because I dont know if it was different for anyone else. But during that hour I got EXTREMELY tired. I fell asleep while waiting for my blood to get drawn. I didnt even FEEL when they pricked my arm and filled 2 vials then unstuck me. I just saw her putting a bandage over it. I mustve been walking weird cause a nurse saw me and offered a wheelchair but I refused because I was just gonna go to the cafeteria and eat something there to see if it helped - which the cafeteria was just across the hall. But it helped! After I ate I felt better and less groggy. I even took a tour of the maternity ward while waiting for my head to fully clear then I went home.

Is this a normal occurance? Ivd never had it happen before which is why Im asking.

Every doctor is different. Some have you fast some don't. I have had to do this twice. The 1 hour & the 3 hour. I felt very tired after doing both especially the 3 hour ugh. They kept asking me if I was ok after each blood draw so I guess it's normal to feel sleepy or woozy afterward.

I'm in Australia and I'm doing my glucose test today, I don't have to fast for this one you just drink the drink go back in an hour and have the blood taken, it's when it comes up positive and you need the second test, the 2 hour one as stated above is when you need to fast. I've never had symptoms like these, the nurses didnt seem to concerned in the way it affected you so I wouldn't stress too much.

I'm not sure where you are from but here (Australia) you do have to fast from midnight the night before. Then you get there they take the first lit if blood, make you drink the stuff, then wait an hr, have another blood test, wait another hour and have a third blood test. I wasn't even allowed water during this two hour test and I came out linking like a pin cushion.

I think it's pretty normal when your pregnant. If I don't eat I get shaky and want to just lay down and sleep and time people are the same when they have blood taken.
