Glucose test?

I have a doctors App tomorrow to have a glucose test done. So my questions are!
-What is my doctor going to do?
-Is it okay for me to eat or drink anything?

a cup of grapes is fine and some fruit is fine. toast and even a cup of cereal is fine.  what you are looking at is carb counting. you want 30g of carbs in the morning. on the diabetic diet you eat every 3 hours...so if you eat your breakfast three hours before your appointment you will be fine, your sugars will have regulated themselves by then and ready for the peak of sugar juice. there is a three hour test because a lot of women fail the one hour test when they aren't diabetic. so they use the three hour test to make sure.

I personally would wait on anything sweet just incase cuz I wouldn't wanna go back for the 3 HR test lol and ya if u fail they ask u to do the longer test to make sure the results were accurate at 24 weeks it was just like a normal appointment measured belly listened to heart beat urine test and asked if I had questions took all of about 15 min lol

For me, they took blood, gave me Orange drink, sat there for an hr, then took blood again. Unfortunately I failed it by 2pts. So I took 3hr test. Which was blood, drink, hr pass, blood, hr pass, blood, hour pass, blood then I got to go home. Uhm I might've failed cause I had cinnamon toast crunch the night before. But with 3 hr test they asked me to fast since 12 hrs before.

Ahh I hope I can keep the drink down but besides this glucose test and the blood draw is there anything else they do or check for at a 24 week app?

Your best bet for an accurate result would be nothing but water after midnight. The drink is pretty yucky. My Dr just pricked my finger :)

They gave me a drink on my prior appointment with an instruction sheet. I couldn't eat that morning and had to drink it exactly one hour before my appointment and went right in to have my blood drawn!

yes unless they gave you the drink already...you have to get you blood drawn an hour time starts after you drank all the stuff completely.

i was allowed to eat and drink for the glucose test. i was given a green drink to drink when i got there and then after 1hr they took some blood and then i could leave, unfortunately for me my levels came back really high so i had to a second test where i was not allowed to eat for 12hrs before the test but i was still allowed to drink water. This time they took blood before then made have a green drink then i had to sit around for 2hrs then they took more blood before i could go home.

You should have blood drawn and hour after you drink some sugary liquid, I suggest you fast, that's what I was told. I had a small sip of water before but that's it.
