Going off the pill question

I have been on the pill for the past 10 years, and in January, decided to go off as my husband and I are ttc.  I got my normal period on January 28th for five days.  My husband and I spend the month "baby dancing," especially around the estimated ovulation time.  Approx. 5 days past my estimated ovulation time, I discharged a large amount of egg white consistency, pink, cervical mucus.  And for about 2 weeks, I have been having cramps that feel like AF is going to come, but then it doesn't come.  AF was supposed to arrive yesterday, and never did.  I took a pregnancy test, and it came back bfn.  I've heard stories that maybe I just don't have enough HCG in my blood yet.  Who knows I guess.

What I'm wondering for all you others that went off the pill, was your cycle irregular for a while?  I've been trying to do google research about this, and it says that if your cycle was regular before the pill, it will be regular afterwards, and if it was irregular before the pill, it will be irregular afterwards.

I'm sitting here at work, and I'm having AF type cramps. . . but like I said, I have been for 2 weeks.  If I'm not pregnant, I just want stupid AF so I can start trying again.  Any words of wisdom would be appreciated. :-D

Thanks for your response.  I know the "healthy" thing to do is just try not to think about this so much and let nature take it's course. :-D

Every body and pregnancy is different.  With my 2nd baby I had to fight with my dr because I knew what my body was telling me and the test said no!  Wait a few more days and if it doesn't come take a different brand test.  First Response always worked the best for me.  Hope that helps!!!
