HCG Levels

I went to the doctor around 5 weeks and 1 day and my HCG Level was 14,500 then I went back six days later and my HCG Level was at 55000. Is this normal?

Hi!
Once the hcg level reaches a certain level, the number no longer doubles, or it would become extremely high eventually.  If you were my patient, I would do an ultrasound at this point, because with levels that high, the fetus should probably be visible, and you might be able to see a nice heart beat.  Wishing you the best!

it could be a number of things. u could just be a slow riser or it could mean a possible aborting pregnancy. i lost my baby at 5 weeks. my levels slowly rised and then dropped dramatically over a period of 3 days... but it doubles every 3 days. but it could just be cuz ur a slow riser. i would check with ur doc and have tests done cuz its a scary thing to go through... i went through a miscarriage and i wouldnt wanna see or hear bout someone havin to go through it like i did... dont stress bout it though that will not be a good thing either.. just make an appt and be checked out theroly..... just to be on the safe side.....take care and good luck hope everything is ok and the pregnancy goes great for u.....

I've been told that hcg levels are suppose to double about  every two days
