HCG levels...

I went to the ER Tuesday for dizziness and nausea and they ran tests on me to see if i had the flu or any other virus/bacteria, they all came back neg. So they said to be safe have my blood drawn for a pregnancy test. This was a random tests. So i did and they called and said that I had a very low amount of hCG in my blood i was(.4), they said that they normally call it positive when it is at(.5). She said it was inconclusive and to come back in a few days and do the test again and they could tell me then. So I went yesterday which was Saturday, and had it done again and she said it was at (.8), still they said inconclusive. So they said that I needed to wait until next weekend to do it again!
I am wanting to know if there is another reason that there could be hcg in my blood? I wouldn't mind to be pregnant and actually am very excited to find out but they aren't giving me any real hints here. What does it have to be for them to call it positive? Why would it be there and going up?
I am just confused and looking for answers.

I just found out that i am not pregnant and that they don't know why my levels are doing that. They said that it is most likely that it is just hormones! So we will just keep trying and see what happens!!!
Thanks to everyones great advice, i really appreciate it!!!

This is what I am thinking... you are pregnant ..and it is a very good sign that your levels did double like they were supposed to. You are just very early pregnant. being sick and dizzy is very good signs that your levels are going up like they are supposed to. Taking a pregnancy test right now would not show you are pregnant. Your levels have to double again and then again before it would show on a home pregnancy test..it has to be atleast 25 for that. I got a negitive blood test with my son but I was pregnant it wasn't until 5 days later that I got a positive at home. They say inconclusive because they want to be sure they are doubling..so next time you go if they double again they'll give you a positive result! Keep us informed

Hi there first response detects as low as 6 the reason I know this is because I've had recurrent miscarriages and got my blood checked and then I dont frist response test and line came up faintly and for the postive usually class if deffo pregnant after 25 and most doctor look for hcg to be in the thousands for a viable pregnancy hope everything will be ok

Most home pg tests won't register under you level gets above 25.  Technically, they don't consider you pregnant until it reaches 25.  If you registered at 4 on a Tuesday and then 8 on a Saturday, it took 4 days to double.  It's possible that you were not actually pregnant and something else was throwing off your levels.  If you are taking any fertility type drugs, it can show up in your hcg levels.

Your level could still be too low. I would def wait. Are you late for AF? I would wait til AF is due or you are late and take a pregnancy test!

ok, so what does my hcg level need to be to read on a test. my mother-in-law came over last night and begged me to take a First response test and i did but it was negative, and she said well then you must not be pregnant and said to get my BC. i was just thinking that my level still probably wouldn't be high enough to get a positive, if i am pregnant.  im thinking about finding a obgyn in town to call and ask them about it, i don't know if i have to be  a patient but i might try. lol...

Its possible you are pregnant. HCG levels in a none pregnant woman are almost none existant and I don't know of any other reason it would be in your blood (unless your on fertility drugs that contain HCG). The levels should double every 48-72 hours although I was told early on in my pregnancy that a rise of 66% is considered okay. Although your numbers may seem tiny you must bear in mind that they all have to start at 1 and rise from there. My guess is you are in really really really early pregnancy like maybe you only concieved last week. A hpt probably wont show for another week or so. When my hcg levels were 28 all hpts were negative (they werent first response tests though-alot of the women on here recommend them so I would try a first response if i were you-i only didnt cos i couldnt afford them) it wasnt until they hit 54 that a got a very faint positive. Lots of luck and hope you find out soon

Do you think that it is possible that i am pregnant? Or is there another reason that there is Hcg in my blood?

I am so glad you posted after me. I totally forgot about a HPT lol. I have a lot on my mind lately! I also reccomend First Response. I found out when I was 2 weeks preggers with Conner using that brand, and I will never use anything else...if I ever need to take one again lol

Instead of spending more money on a blood test, take a home test in a week! I recommend First Response.

It did double like it was supposed to. All I can say is to wait until next weekend. It could be very possible that you are pregnant.
