Okay, so I guess I'm just looking for some advice. I ended up having sex on the 24th. We used a condom, but it broke, and he ejaculated inside me. I'm not on the pill, or anything of the sorts. It was around the time of ovulation for me, and I wasn't able to take Plan B until roughly 40 or so hours after the fact.

I know the main purpose of Plan B is to prevent ovulation from happening, but I'm not entirely sure about how it works if taken after ovulation. I've read so many different things online, and I'm really confused/panicked. I'm wondering if anyone else has gone through this, and if they could possibly share? Please help!

well i understand plan b can have those side effects, but so can't implantation bleeding, which is what is freaking me out- considering my time line and what i've read about implantation bleeding...

Plan B can and often will cause odd spotting and bleeding. It can also cause a late period, missed period, early period or make it more light/heavy. Stress can also play a factor in your period and when it will come.

okay, so its been over a week since the incident occured, and i thought i started my period today - granted it wouldve been early- but since i took plan b, i didn't really rule it out. the blood was a brownish color, and not very heavy, and ive been having horrible cramps. the bleeding has stopped but the cramps haven't. my friend keeps telling me im probably just stressing out too much, or its some adverse side effect. i don't know though. any suggestions before i decide to go to the doctors?

okk so i don't have an idea about plan b pill but i can surely advice u about the working of an emergency contraceptive pill... emergency contraceptive pills work bets when taken within 24 hours of the action and not late than 72 hours.. an ecp works upto 95% when taken within 24 to 30 hours 75% when taken within 48 hours and 58% when within 72 hours... an emergency contraceptive pill works in 3 ways- 1) it prevents ovulation 2) it prevents fertilization if ovulation has taken place and 3) it prevents implantation if fertilization has taken place.. howevr the pill is in effective if implantation has taken place.. undoubtedly it disturbs the menstrual cycle... after the consumption of the pill the periods are either delayed or come up early but if delayed more than a week from the expected date u should go for  a pregnancy test... hope this is of some help.

Well my friend took Plan B and still ended up PG. BUT she did end up having a miscarriage. I think she took it around the same time as you did. BUT I'm not sure. You are suppose to have 72 hours to take it.

Plan B seeriously screws up your body. I dont advise you take it again. Its to stop Implantation ofpregnancy Not ovulation I do believe..
Plan B also doesnt always work its more effective 24 hrs after sex also.
The best thing you can do is to wait to see if you miss your eriod then take a test with First morning urine!
