HELP!!!

I am 4 1/2 weeks pregnant.  Last night I went to the ER because I had a small amount of spotting and some "gas-like" pains in my abdomen.  They do not feel like mestral cramps.  When I was there they did an hcg test and told me that my level was 900, and that I need to see me OB/GYN on Monday.  The doctor wasn't the brightest bulb, so I don't know if this is something to worry about or not.  Currently I am taking Amoxicillin because my daughter was diagnosed strep throat.  I started taking that on Monday.  Last night they told me that I have a UTI and a yeast infection, so I started on Macrobid and a cream.  This morning when I got up there was a little more spotting, and I still have the same "pains".  I had a miscarriage 3 months ago, so I am very worried.  Please explain this to me!!!!

Your welcome. If you need to chat feel free to message me.

I got this off the web for you to reassure you more. it's from the American pregnancy Association.

Guideline to hCG levels during pregnancy:
hCG levels in weeks from LMP (gestational age)* :

3 weeks LMP: 5 - 50 mIU/ml
4 weeks LMP: 5 - 426 mIU/ml ----You should be here or
5 weeks LMP: 18 - 7,340 mIU/ml  ---Here... Obviously your #'s are fine. :)
6 weeks LMP: 1,080 - 56,500 mIU/ml
7 - 8 weeks LMP: 7, 650 - 229,000 mIU/ml
9 - 12 weeks LMP: 25,700 - 288,000 mIU/ml
13 - 16 weeks LMP: 13,300 - 254,000 mIU/ml
17 - 24 weeks LMP: 4,060 - 165,400 mIU/ml
25 - 40 weeks LMP: 3,640 - 117,000 mIU/ml
Non-pregnant females: <5.0 mIU/ml
Postmenopausal females: <9.5 mIU/ml
* These numbers are just a GUIDELINE-- every woman’s level of hCG can rise differently. It is not necessarily the level that matters but rather the change in the level.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,

Bleeding in an early pregnancy is considered a threatened abortion (that is the medical terminology).  That said, bleeding in early pregnancy is quite common.

With an hCG level of 900 we wouldn't expect to see anything on ultrasound.  Because of this, we cannot say if this early pregnancy is a normally developing pregnancy in the uterus, an abnormally developing pregnancy in the uterus or a pregnancy outside of the uterus (an ectopic pregnancy).  Because it is too early to tell these things and you have had bleeding and pain it is prudent to monitor you as if it were the worst of all three, an ectopic.  Thus, your ob/gyn will follow you closely over the next few days, checking the rise of your hCG level and when appropriate obtaining an ultrasound.

Best regards,

Dr. Downing

It's normal for a pregnant woman to get UTI and yeast infections according to my doctor. You need to call your OB and set up an appointment just to be on the safe side, that way he/she can check your HCG levels and make sure all is good. When I was @ 4 weeks (4 weeks past my period) my levels were 386, they'll just check to make sure they're doubling every 2-3 days.
