HOPE SOMEONE CAN HELP!!!

I've had Mirena for almost 4 years now, and recently my fiance and I decided that we want to have another baby. Due to a recent job change I currently dont have insurance, so it is going to be kinda expensive to go and have it taken out. I was wondering if anyone has taken it out themselves or if that would be possible or safe? any information or comments welcome.

Thank you,
Joni

I have had two mirena's, the first one I developed an infection some how and had to have it removed it was sooo painfull. Maybe from the complications and maybe just because the guy was kinda rough in the ER. My second one has vanished and I'm pregnant and really excited but I don't at all recommend removing it ur self it could really cause damage to ur insides and possibly make it so u cant have children

The one who pulled it out herself got pregnant the next day. The other one didnt get pregnant but her and her b/f broke up about 2 days later. Now she is on a pill. I am getting mine taken out on April 2nd. I will let you know how that goes.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,

Despite the cost you will be much safer (and hopefully avoid costs associated with a potential complication) by allowing a healthcare professional take out the IUD.

Best regards,

Dr. Downing

I have a friend who pulled hers out herself and another friend that had her boyfriend pull it out. They were both fine. I am not going to say I recommend it but I know it has been done before. I am sure there are a lot of others who have done it also.
