I'm a stylist nd expectant mother it is absolutely ok. Good ventilation is needed, if you're still worried talk to your stylist about ammonia free dye and lightener. Redkin makes an awesome ammonia free lightener.
I've done my hair twice. I get ammonia free dye and my fiance does it in the living room so I can breathe. (:
My sister is a hair stylest and I've asked my doc its find to dye ur hair at any time just make sure ur not breathing in that one stuff if ur in a small room :)
I've done my hair twice & both times the hormones made it different then how it should have looked I was trying to cover up the first time, & it came out wayyyy darker than it should have, its safe just don't be surprised if you get a different color than what you were going for! :)
My doctor gave me a pamphlet at my first visit and it had myths and facts about pregnancy... dying your hair will not harm you or the baby...the only thing that could go wrong would be the color not turn out right...i dye and highlight my hair..i am 24w3d so far so good on color lol
That should be fine. Enjoy yourself :-)
I wanted it a really dark color almost black so how would that turn out and I was going to go to the hair salon to get it done so would that be well ventilated??
I did mine a few days ago and it turned out great but I have African American hair.
^^^ I wonder if my midwife was just super against chemicals. Lol. She told I couldn't even get my nails done because of the fumes in the nail salon. :/
With my first pregnancy my midwife told me not to use the ones with chemicals in them because its bad to breath in and they absorb through the scalp but that I could use natural hair dyes without chemicals and it would be fine. Unfortunately they don't work as well but it's better than nothing.! Lol.
Sorry I hit send before I was done. Keep yourself in a well ventilated area.
As long as youre in a well ventilated area its fine. i'm 37+2 and have done it a few times. the chemicals dont absorb to the body or affect baby, just ensure it's a ventilated area to avoid breathing too many chemicals, which is a rule whether pregnant or not
You will get mixed answers on this. I asked my doctor and my hair stylest and they both said the amount of dye your body actuay takes in is so minimal it will not harm the baby. Just be prepared because all of the hormones in your body may make the dye come out a diffrent colour then you expect. Also keep yourself i .a well
I heard it's fine as long as youre past the first trimester, which you are.
