Has anyone ever seen this?

I was 14 days post ivf transfer when I got my first hcg levels back. They were only 28! Then, yesterday I got the second test and it was only 33! I still feel pregnant. Dr says he expects the numbers to be zero on monday...

One week before the first blood draw I started taking hpt's and they were all positive. My progesterone level was 40.

I am 25 years old and healthy. We transfered 2 perfect 5 day blastocysts.

I am just looking for opinions, is this pregnancy hopeless?

Thanks for commenting... Yes, the Doctor will re-test on Monday, we have a LONG wait ahead of us! Doc says if the numbers do go up that he won't stop the meds but he says it'e not likely... I have done alot of reading and it don't look to good for us. I have not seen one case with numbers as low as mine when I am 4 wks & 3 days along.

All we can do now is wait.....

I would not say it is hopeless at all. It takes up to 72 HOURS for your levels to double. Your levels ARE going up, so that is promising. I wouldn't give up hope just yet. DO NOT accept a D&C (basically they scrape baby/ies and placenta out) because your little one(s) might not be dead!

If you are to lose this one, do it naturally so you KNOW BEYOND A SHADOW OF DOUBT that it is hopeless. But honestly sounds like your levels are rising. He should have checked your levels at least after 48 hours!!!

Get a second opinion if you can. And definitely ask for another blood test (I am assuming he's saying 0 on Monday so he's going to check Monday?). Many women are told their pregnancy is not viable (alive) when in fact they are!!!
