They are safe... I took high doses and through all of my pregnancies. I had severe pain and kidney stones with my pregnancies. I passed a stone already with this baby but fought the pain when I get a next attack I will go in for pain killers. Also you can not take ibuprofen while pregnant.

My doctor told me it was ok to take, but I only are in small doses. I cut the pill in half and only take one half at a time when I am in pain. Also be aware painkillers are highly addictive and misuse of them can result in addiction. It's relatively safe to take (depending on who you ask, a lot of people will have different opinions) but I would be careful with them. :)

I get kidney stones and I was given a list of pain killers. I was mostly given Percocet which worked well.

Probably. My OB prescribed me Norcos (same as hydrocodone) for my bruised rib.
