HcG & Progesterone Levels in Early Pregnancy

Hi everyone,

I just recently found out I am pregnant again after suffering a miscarriage on April 12th at 11w2d.  My doctor sent me in yesterday for blood work and called this morning with my results.  I know I shouldn't panic, but I'm so scared of losing this baby too (I have 2 healthy boys and one miscarriage).  My levels were as follows:

HcG  19
Progesterone   19.2

I have to go back tomorrow afternoon and get retested to make sure that my levels double.  I've looked online and most websites say I'm in the "normal" range.  My LMP was May28th and according to online I would be 3w3d.  I asked my doctor if she was concerned about my levels and she just said that it was too early to tell.  I guess I'm just going to have to wait it out until Friday morning when I get my next set of results.

Anyone have similar levels and go on to have a healthy pregnancy?  My miscarriage has just made me a nervous wreck.

Thanks so much.

Just wanted to update everyone that my levels have more than doubled from a 19 on Tuesday to a 63 on Thursday.  Doctor has scheduled me an ultrasound on July 19th to check for a heartbeat.  Thanks for all the advice ladies.

I agree, levels are all over the place and are different for each woman. What is important is if it doubles in 48 hours. At 15dpo my hcg for my dd was 199 if I remember correctly. Two days later it went up to like over 500.

Thanks for the response.  This is my fourth pregnancy (2 boys and 1 miscarriage) and I've always been able to get a + HPT around 4-5 days before my missed period.  I always use First Response.  After my miscarriage, my doctor followed my levels back down to "zero" with weekly blood draws.  When my levels were at an 11, First Response was still picking it up as a positive.  I have found them to be the best at detecting early pregnancy.  First Response showed a positive (although faint) on Monday afternoon and yesterday early morning I was able to get a "yes+" on First Response Digital and yesterday evening Clear Blue Easy Digital finally picked it up and said "pregnant."  Today I would be 11DPO (LMP was May 28th and I believe I ovulated around Day 15 so on June 11th).

Thanks for the advice and I go in tomorrow afternoon to have my levels retested so I will update on Friday morning when I get the results back.  Here's hoping everything doubles the way it should.

I agree that it's too early to tell.  You are several days away from missing your period.  My doctor always likes my HCG numbers to be around 100 the day that I miss my period (15 dpo).  If you continue doubling like you should from 19 then you're likely to reach that 100 by the time you've missed your period.

Your progesterone is great.  How did you find out you were pregnant so early?  Most pregnancy tests don't pick up anything under 20.
