Health insurance

Hi everyone, Im 18 years old and currently 29 weeks pregnant. Im due in February but am going to be under different medical insurance as of January 12, 2014. Im under my dad's insurance and he had to sign for a different policy the other day(due to his job). Im curious to see if anyone else has been in this situation as well and if they have any advice for a first time mom? I'd also like to add that currently I have Kaiser Permanente and will have HMSA in January.

I had to go onto my own insurance since I'm 20 evem though I was still on my dads insurance for Kaiser. I got Medical & ended up with Cal Optima. So all I got to say is make SURE that you send all the paper work in as soon as you get it & make sure your dr knows of the change and they verify it ! Just yesterday I had a follow up for my anatomy scan but couldn't be done because apparently I forgot to ask my dr to verify me. Good luck:)

I was 34 weeks when my job had insurance policy changes. I also had Kaiser. The first thing you do is start looking for a dr with the new insurance. Once you have your dr picked out ask for your medical records that way on your first visit new dr is on the same page and has a plan for you and baby boy. Register to a hospital that corresponds to new insurance as with Kaiser we didn't have to do that.

If you have any questions feel free to message me.
