Help Please, I am not sure what to do?!?

Hello, I am hoping that someone out there can help me my last menstrual cycle was on October 18th, 2008. I never got one in November and it is now December and still nothing. I have been haveing lower abdomen pains off and on since I was susspost to get my period in november. I have taken several pregnancy tests and they have come back negative, I also went to the doctors cause I was concerned, but the doctor was a jerk and was not concerned at all. He just made me take a urine test and felt my stomach, he said that if I don't get my period by January to come back and see him. I am not sure what to do, something just doesn't feel right. The pains are not constant they come and they go all day and they are not very strong either but I have never been late on my period and have never had anythin like this go on. Please if anyone can help that would be great.
Thank You for your time.

Hi,

I experienced nearly the same as you. I have always had a regular cycle (for the most part) & had my period on Oct 5th & then missed the entire month of November, which I have never done. I also tested neg on urine & blood test & worried that I could still be pregnant. I tried to relax & think about it as little as possible & my cycle started Dec 7. I don't know what caused me to miss, maybe stress or not ovulating for a month. Hopefully your cycle will start soon too! I hope this helps!!!!

Hi!  You have most likely had an anovulatory cycle.  This happens to most women from time to time due to stress or for basically no reason at all even.  It simply means that you didn't ovulate on schedule, and therefore didn't have your period.  The fact that you are having pain is somewhat worriesome for a cyst on your ovary.

It is possible to develop a cyst on the ovary that produces hormones and throws your cycle off.  An ultrasound would tell you whether this is the case.  Most commonly, a small cyst will disappear on its own, the pain will get better and your cycles will resume.  If you want to jump-start your cycle in a way that is safe (just in case you are pregnant) you could take Prometrium for five days.  (Maybe the jerky doctor would prescribe it for you over the phone so you could at least get your money's worth out of the visit!)

We prescribe prometrium for pregnant patients to help them carry their pregnancies, so if you take it while pregnant, nothing happens.  If you are not pregnant, it should bring on your period.

Good luck!

I would go to another doctor, listen to your body and find someone that will listen to you..How old are you?  are you hoping to be pregnant? just curious...  pain is a way of your body telling you that something isn't right so do what your gut is telling you..Good luck!
