Help should i find out my babys sex

hi everyone not posted for while but like use all know im pregnant im 10 weeks 3 days and i am able to get my baby gender scan when im 18 weeks but the questions is should i have it and how accurate is it its a 3d scan i will be getting my partner wants to know what it is but im not sure i would like to find out because i have a son and a daughter and when i had my daughter i felt i was running around trying to find girl clothes and pink things so it would be good to find out what it is so im prepared for it coming and the reason i dont want to find out is i like the surprise when its born and im scared the clinic will get the sex wrong thats why im asking anyone thats has had the scan done do use think it was a good idea to get it and is it accurate please help i really dont know what to do thanks

i dont get anymore scans after 14 weeks by my doctor i have to go to a private clinic to find out the sex of the baby and it cost alot of money and i cant afford to get another scan thats why im hoping when i have my 18 weeks scan i will find out the sex and the wont be wrong but i just wanted to know if anyone went for the gender scan it was accurate. i live in scotland and where i live the doctors are not aloud to tell anyone what the sex is because they keep getting it wrong so i have to go to a private clinic which isn't cheap. thank you for your comment

If you are so worried that the sex will be inaccurate on an ultrasound, maybe you should get an amnio.  Plus, with an amnio you would be able to find out any birth defects the baby could have.  But, ultrasounds are usually pretty reliable.  You will have another ultrasound after your 18 weeks scan... again, if you are worried that they have gotten it wrong at your 18 week scan, ask them to re-confirm this at your next ultrasound.
