I conceived 4wks after a miscarriage. Miscarried may/2012 and conceived june 4, 2012. Lol while using a condom. I have been married for 8 yrs and that has been our contraceptive the whole time so we know we used it correctly. Shocked the obgyn, hubby and myself when I went for a follow up appt end of june because I was still showing some tissue in a ultrasound from miscarriage and we found out I was pregnant again :) I'm 34wks preggers right now with our little surprise baby. So if u want to be positive get a blood test  more accurate than the home tests. After the initial blood test retake our again a week later to see if hcg levels r rising. Than u will know for sure. Good luck!

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
HI!
I am sorry to hear of your miscarriage--that is always so hard!
If you were my patient, I would advise you that the soonest I would expect you to ovulate would be two weeks after the pregnancy test reached zero.
And, therefore, the soonest I would expect a pregnancy test to be positive would be four weeks after the hormone level reached zero.
If you have done a test and it is negative, you may want to repeat in a week.  If it is positive, that would signal a new pregnancy (most likely).
Most women can expect to resume their cycles within 4-6 weeks after the hormone level reaches zero.  It can take up to 3 months though, so may be a bit stressful while you wait.
Good luck!
