High metabolism and pregnancy

I have a very high metabolism and am considered "underweight" for my height. I was wondering if it could effect my future pregnancy in a negative way

As long as you eat right and do what the doctor tells you, you should have a perfectly healthy pregnancy

Well I'm 5'6 and 96-98 lbs. I am considered underweight due to my height. I don't lose weight excessively. I gain a pound or two after eating then after like an hour or so I'll be back down to 96-98. If I don't eat I'm at like 93-94. But I always eat:) except when I'm sick... I'm not worried about having any kind of disease, I am just worried that I won't be able to "grow" to fit a baby inside me.

I understand what you are going through. I am also very thin for my height and 13 wks pregnant. At one point I was eating close to 6000 calories a day just to maintain weight. My doctor is very worried about my weight because the it may mean baby isn't getting enough nutrients and growing properly. You might consider getting checked for Celiac disease, it can cause you to be underweight too. Good luck!

Well I've had yearly physicals and have been like this my whole life and my doctor has never mentioned anything about it being a problem. I'm not yet pregnant but this is just for future reference.

Do you have hyperthyroidism? Are you taking medications for your high metabolism? I would make sure your doctor knows, thyroid issues can effect a pregnancy, I have hypothyroidism and have to take my medicine every day so I don't risk issues with my little girl.
