How do I know if I'm in labour??

I am 37 weeks and 2 days.  I went to my doctor Thursday and was 2cm dilated and she could feel my baby's head.  I'm a first time mom, so I don't know what to expect.  I think I lost my mucous plug yesterday and now keep having brownish colored blood on my panty liner.  Should I call my doctor?  Is labour very soon?  I also have contractions speraticly and back lower back pain.  

Any suggestions would be much appreciated!  Thank you!!

R the contractions regular?and walk as much as u can b hydrated well n hav cinnamon tea .....try spicy food ....and to fasten up the labour try drinking glass of milk with clarified butter (spoonful )...

I'm almost 37 weeks. I lost my mucus plug like 5 days ago and been seeing bloody show since Thursday. My Dr told me I'm 3cm. I've been walking my butt off lol. No agonizing contractions yet.
