How long before provera works

I've had very irregular periods since my mirena was removed in April.  My cycles was; 35 days then 43 then 46 and i'm now on dai 61 without a sign of my period.  My doctor prescribed provera and told me that my perion will start within 2 days.  I've been taking it for 7 days now and are on my last tablet and still no period.  What can cause this.  Me and my husband have been trying to get pregnant since April and my doctor suspects that i am not ovulating.  She prescribed tablets to help with that as well which i'm suppose to start taking on my second day of my period.  Is there a cause for me to get worried?

Hi!
As you can see from the posts, when the period comes after taking provera is quite variable.  I usually tell my patients to call me if they have not had their period within two weeks of taking the last pill.  If more than14 days goes by between your last pill and your period, call your MD. IF you were my patient, I would, at that point, tell you to go ahead and take your Clomid/Femara or whatever medication the doctor has given you to help you ovulate.  Also, be sure to get your progesterone level checked 21 days after the start of your period or 18 days after the start of your ovulation medication.  Many people blow this test off, and then never know if the medicine is working or not.
Good luck!

I was taking Provera b/c of irregular periods also.  You should start about 3 days after taking your last pill.
