How many?

How many ultrasounds does one have during a typical pregnancy? Around what weeks? Thanks :)

I am going to have four bc I have placenta previa and they have to keep an eye to see if it moves or if I will need a scheduled csection

I've had 4 this pregnancy. one when I was 9 weeks, another at 19 weeks to check the gender, one around 27 weeks because I didn't feel my baby kick for 3 days & my doctor was worried, & another at 35 weeks because my doctor said I was measuring small & she wanted to make sure everything was ok. so I guess it all depends on your doctor & if there's anything wrong

I just love them so much watching her move around. I feel like my last one wasn't as good as the one before. She did 3d but was trying to get video rather than pictures but Harmony wasn't want that. I wish she would have taken more pics and the cut away the extra stuff like the lady before did. I would have gotten to see her better but oh well, I will see her in March in person!

Lol understandable. This is my first. And i would love if my dr. Did a u/s every 3 weeks at my apt. Lol

Ya where I live it's crazy expensive lol.  I'm okay with what I have had :) I can wait to see her again I suppose lol

Some times they will do one to see the amniotic level. Or if something doesny feel right. But noone ive talked to got one just for the hell of it. They have only gotten one due to a specific reason. Im sure u could get one if paid out of pocket

Why would a doctor due on after 20 weeks?

Ive had two already..,and i am only 12 weeks. My doctor said he might do another at 13 weeks. Plus I'll have one at 20 weeks. So i think its all up to ur doctor.

I was hoping that typically they do one in the third trimester too, but oh we'll I guess. I am blessed because I have had four ultrasounds. One to confirm pregnancy at a clinic, one to confirm the due date at the OB's office. A d two to check for abnormalities and measure her. The first time they didn't get a good pic of her heart and spine.

I only had 2.
At 13 weeks to check for abnormalities and again and 18 weeks to find out the gender.

So basically after they make sure the baby is measuring right you don't get anymore?

Depends on your doc,insur an health. I had one at 12w an 20w an my doc said thats it.i also had one at 16w to find out the gender early but i paid outta pocket for it.
