gestational sac and negative HCG

I just had an ultrasound of my pelvis last week and the technologist found that I have PCOS and upon finding that, she also found a gestational sac in my uterus!  I had an HCG but it was negative.  Is it still too soon for the HCG levels to show up?  My LMP was 3-6-08.  They calculated me to be around 3-4 weeks.  The radiologist recommended a follow up ultrasound test in two weeks.  But i am  still so confused as to why my levels were negative!  I had a quantitative HCG.  <2......

Finally, someone who is going through the same thing as me.  I have since started my monthly cycle and have had two negative pregnancy tests.  i called my doctor on Friday and left a message with his nurse telling her that I had a lot of questions.  She called me back and I asked her if I was considered pregnant even though there was not an HCG level and she said no, I don't think you were.  I am sorry.  I then explained to her what happened when I got my ultrasound and she said that she would ask the doctor and call me back. She called me back and said NO, I was not pregnant.....  But HE(my gyno) is the one that told me in the very beginning that the only thing that can look like a gestational sac IS a gestational sac!   I am scheduled to have a follow up sonogram on the 21st to see if that "Gestational sac/ tumor" is still there.  I was so stressed out over this whole situation.  My friend/co worker is the one who scanned me and she told me not to get my hopes up but.....I am seeing what looks like a gestational sac!  The radiologist confirmed that it May represent an early pregnancy and wanted HCG levels to confirm.  I am so confused!  I can't wait to get the ultrasound done and go over my lab results with my doctor.

I am sitting here in limbo right now. I've pretty much calmed myself down now and have accepted that I am not pregnant.  I sure hope that you find out what is going on quicker than I am.  I had myself talked into having what is called a blighted ovum.  But after all the stuff i've read on blighted ovums, the ladies that had them had HCG levels....and I don't.   Keep me updated on your condition!   Good luck!

Any update on your situation? I am in the same boat: at 16 days post ovulation, very obvious gestational sac and corpus luteum (on right ovary) but negative Beta hcg
Hello princessrima.  That's always so worrying.  Sometimes they don't see anything in the sac but you say they've already spotted yours but you have 0 for your beta?  What does your doctor say?  Were you TTC?
