I am another one who never had this with AF, but when I had soreness with early pregnancy it was pretty bad. I couldn't even hug anyone. lol  And I also noticed that it hurt more toward my inner arm and kind of had a hard spot there. Not sure if that's normal, but that's what happened to me.

When I was pregnant my breasts were more sore, nipples were painful and it lasted longer then when I get AF.  It hurt to even wear my bra.

Coming from a female, who has had tenderness from a/f and soreness from pregnancy:  There IS a difference!

Before my a/f, my nipples would be tender but not the rest.  I can always tell when I'm pregnant because my breasts swell, become much firmer, and hurt so bad I can't lay on my stomach!

When my breasts stop hurting is when I realized I miscarried (twice).  Thus, the discomfort beats the alternative.

When AF was coming for me..my nipples would get very tender. Like if I touched them or hit them it would hurt! But when I got Pregnant my nipples hurt first...so I thought AF was on her way...than after I got my BFP both my boobs and nipples started hurting! Doesn't hurt to wear a bra or touch them...they are just really sore and tender. My nipples KILL though..I can't even barely touch them, they hurt bad! So I have to say with being Pregnant, my nipples are WAY more sensitive!

I never had breast soreness before AF so when I did get it it was a BIG FAT sign of pregnancy... I have heard that some women have a lot more severe pain with pre pregnancy but it really depends on the woman...

I'm between six and seven weeks pregnant and my boobs have never been this sore in my life! I know every pregnancy (and women) are different, but my breast tenderness was the first sign that I was pregnant, and they just keep getting more sore. It's worth it though. this will be my first child and he/she is due at the beginning of february. good luck to you (and your boobs!!!)

I think that preggo breast tenderness in very similar to AF tenderness. Just preggo tenderness for me has been constant.. AF tenderness would usually be really short lived. My bb's have been killing me for 3 weeks, this was actually the initial reason I took a hpt..  I swear I have never had such tenderness in my life.. It's unpleasant in my opinion... =)

Hope this helps

msgorgeous,

To be honest I never have breast soreness or tenderness before, during or after AF. The only time I have ever had any breast soreness is when I am pregnant and after the delivery, other than that Im not to sure if there is a difference or not, as my boobs behave themselves for the most part lol
