Dealing with the pain

I'm 40+5days so I could go into labor any day now.  If not I'm being induced on Monday.  I'm horrible when it comes 2 pain..my tolerance is super low!  So what are ways I'll be able 2 deal with the pain of contractions before I can get my epidural??

Depending how they induce you, you may be able to have an epidural straight away. But if they are doing it in a way which leaves you active then all of staceys hints are very useful, you could ask to use their birthing pool. You may surprise yourself just how well you cope with the pain, its not like a normal ouchy pain! Gas and air is also fabulous stuff...I love it!

staying active helps with the pain, swaying the hips when your having a contraction, also getting in the shower and using the hot water as pain relief is really effective, alternatively if you cant get into a shower, the hospital may have hot packs avaliable, plus there is the gas etc
